A lot of people seem to be a little unsure about my art usage rules. And to be perfectly honest, I didn't really make it all that clear in my FAQ.

1. You may repost my artwork on a personal website, blog, RPing forum, etc as long as it doesn't contain someone else's characters. In other words, if the image contains characters such as Linkev, Keer, Centerleft, etc or your own character, you're free to use it as you see fit. If it is of your character in a group picture then you are also allowed to repost said image. I would also really, really love to see where my art is being used, so notes are nice to get but not absolutely necessary.
-Image boards and YouTube videos are a bit of an exception as I honestly don't mind seeing any of my work being posted there. If anything, I find it really, really flattering.
2. You may edit or crop any of my images as long as they solely contain my own intellectual property and characters. I would also really, really like it if you'd just give a little bit of credit on the cropped image.
3. My cat smells like pineapple.
4. You may recolor images containing only my personal characters and ONLY if you either still retain my username in the file name, leave my signature on the image, or give me credit in some way, shape or form.
5. You may take images of my characters and use them for your own characters. i.e. reposting a picture of Link as your character Bob.
6. You may take inspiration from my designs for Second Life avatars, personal projects, etc.
7. I'm a lumpy maggot with porridge for brains.
8. Feel free to reference, just as long as I get credit. Though you should /always/ be referencing from life, not from another artist as you will learn their mistakes and bad habits.
9. You may NOT claim any of my work to be your own.
10. You may NOT remove existing signatures unless you will be replacing them somewhere else on the image with either my standard [5ive], By GearOtter, or gearotter.deviantart .com.
11. You may NOT use an image containing another person's_{[as in outside of my own]} character for your website, blog, RP site, etc.

Character usage:
1. If you really want, you can RP my characters. I don't know why you'd want to, but you can. Just let me know what characters and where you're using them.
2. Yes, you can draw gift art. I love getting gift art of any kind and have never really understood why people think I'd get offended by getting a free gift from someone.
3. You may create your own Psiloc character, I'll actually be putting up a Psiloc drawing sheet/reference chart sometime in the future.
4. You may create your own Calatonan based character. I will be building up a proper website and RP board that explains a lot about Calatona, its culture, geography, etc.


I'm really lenient about my art being used because well. This is the internet, and when you post your work online you are pretty much agreeing to an invisible contract that says people will download, save, print out, copy, repost, etc your artwork. I see it as free advertising and my art being distributed worldwide, evenmoreso than just here on DevArt or FurAffinity.

My rules may be slack, but they don't at all apply for every artist. ALWAYS ask an artist for permission if you are unsure of their image usage rules. I really cannot stress this part enough. Just because their art is there, on the internet, doesn't mean that they're perfectly fine with people taking it for their own online uses.
